Lincoln, CA, October 14, 2015– On Saturday, September 19th, 30 students from Glen Edwards Middle School (GEMS) participated in a creek clean up at Auburn Ravine. Partnered with the Wildlife Heritage Foundation, GEMS students spent three hours from 9am to 12pm volunteering their time to clean up Auburn Ravine.
Lincoln, CA, September 11, 2015– The Native Sons of the Golden West placed ten monumental plaques around Lincoln over the past ten years. A wonderful asset to our town, The Native Sons of the Golden West replaced a plaque at the original entrance to Lincoln High School on Thursday, September 9th, 2015. The original plaque was dedicated on September 9th, 2007 for the 100th birthday of Lincoln High School, but was unfortunately stolen in 2013 and was sold for the bronze as scrap metal.
Lincoln, CA, September 1, 2015–Thunder Valley Casino Resort made itself a scholastic supporter, once again, by starting their process of donating over 1.2 million sheets of paper to schools in the area. 9 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, at the old Western Placer District Office (600 Sixth Street, Suite 400), in the parking lot of Pheonix and Lincoln high schools, marked the first round of donations. The amount of paper that was delivered to the Western Placer Unified School DIstrict was over 800 reams.
Lincoln, CA, August 18, 2015– The summer heat is slowly waning and the feel of change is in the air; both parents and children alike are excited about the start of a new school year. The Western Placer Unified School District (WPUSD) school year started on August 19th with an array of new resources for teachers, parents, and students.
