Every two years the California Department of Education (CDE) requires school districts to conduct the California Healthy Kids Survey to assist schools in preventing youth health-risk behaviors and to promote positive youth development, resilience, and well-being.
Surveys are administered in grades 5, 7, 9 and 11. We use the survey results to determine how to best support our students as it relates to health, wellness and safety.
The middle and high school surveys contain different questions than the 5th grade survey. This year, CDE has also requested that our middle and high school students also take a supplemental survey that specifically targets a specific at-risk indicator.
