Western Placer Unified School District is proud to offer the Parent Teacher Home Visit (PTHV) Program as part of our commitment to family engagement and student success.

Parent Teacher Home Visits are voluntary visits conducted by trained school staff with families in a location where families feel comfortable, often in their home, a park, library, coffee shop, or other community setting. These visits are not focused on academics, attendance, behavior, or problem-solving. Instead, they are designed to build trusting relationships between families and schools before challenges arise.

Research shows that when families and educators develop strong relationships, students feel more connected, supported, and successful in school. Home visits help educators better understand students' strengths, interests, goals, cultures, and family experiences, creating a stronger partnership between home and school.

What Happens During a Home Visit?

Parent Teacher Home Visits are:

• Conducted by trained staff members

During a visit, families and educators engage in conversation, get to know one another, and discuss hopes and dreams for the student. The goal is to create meaningful connections that support student success.
